What's Ikariam?
Ikariam is an online real-time strategy game where you have to manage your resources to extend your imperium from a small settlement in a forsaken island to a complex network of cities and colonies. Its theme is based around the Mediterranean coast that saw many civilizations come and go, trade and fight. These would cross the sea to meet other cultures, sometimes with trading purposes, other with more aggressive intentions. Keeping this very spirit, Ikariam is bases around two concepts: trade and fight your neighbors to get the desires and rare resources that your cities need to keep expanding.

crystal glass (with x Ambrosia) and trade it into something else. So
e.g. 1k crystal glass into 2k building material or 1k crystal glass
into 1k marble. After the successful trade the merchant disappears and
you have to order a new one for your next trading. Details for the

Ikariam Test Server
A tets server has been open to test the latest features. The official languages is english. Access is limited to 500 players from any country. The address is: http://test.ikariam.org
Firstly, action points, a controversial issue. They limit the amount of movement you can have from and to a given city. Trading, attacking and blocking ports all count as "using" one action point which will be set free once the event finishes. As you Town Hall goes up, you get more Action Points in that city, they are not shared. You start with 2 AP and gain an extra 1 for every 5 leves of Town Hall upgrades.Corruption will make new colonies less eficient, specially at the beging. To counter-effect the corruption we will use a new building avaiable only to colonies: the Governors House.
With the new piracy system we can send troops to go out hunting other cities trade ships and looting them. To secure your own cargo ships, you will be able to protect your ships with troops while they carry resources. Trading Schips that arrive at a port suffering a blokade will have a chace of dropping their load into the sea instead of going always to the owner of the ships dping the blokade. The Resource System will be completely reestructurated to balance the game. Sulphur will be made more important and the initial advantage of Marble cities will be removed. Also, there will be longer gathering resources phases combined with shorter building times.
The Barbarians villages will be controlled by an AI and they will server as target for new players to try their battling skills. (Much like a tutorial system but with the added benefit of giving resources). From all of those new features, only the new Town Hallv0.2 view has been implemented, the rest is pending.
